and special gift for Mom on Mother’s Day, Sunday, which will also bring love and comfort to homeless

said Founder Eileen Smulson, Operation Blankets of Love (OBOL),which provides aid and comfort to

homeless animals in shelters, rescue groups, wildlife and farm sanctuaries. The 501c nonprofit also

teaches humane education in schools.

she said.

Consumers are expected to spend an average of $152.52 on gifts for Mother's Day: up eight percent

from last year, according to a survey by the National Retail Federation. In total, we're expected to spend a

total $18.6 billion on Mother'sDay presents, according to the NRF. (USA Today.) 
  OBOL has

collected and distributed more than 600,000 items, providing in excess of $1 million in provisions for

homeless animals. The charitable organization has been awarded and has distributed 10,000 pounds

of dog and cat food to rescues in one day.
