Calabasas, CAWhen you look at the staggering numbers of between 143 to 210 million orphans worldwide (UNICEF reports), the sobering message is clear - the world needs more nonprofits like The World Orphanage Foundation (WOF).

To keep it in perspective, the USA population is a little more than 300 million and to … to illustrate just how many are orphans think Russia, 
which has a population141 million.

Celebrity fashion designers, entertainers and political dignitaries plan to attend fundraising extravaganza at the Calabasas Country Club,
Thursday, April 4, 2013.  The World Networks sponsored, red carpet reception (7:00 -8:00 pm) dinner and show (8:00 pm-12:00 am) is to help raise money to support The World Orphanage Foundation (WOF).  W.O.F is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), which builds public awareness and raises funds for select orphanages and other institutions that are devoted to child welfare and the plight of children worldwide.

Among the celebs and dignitaries confirmed: Actor/Producer Timothy Woodward Jr., (Finders Keepers: The Root of All Evil, 2003); 
Editor, Lauren de Normandie, STATUS LA Magazine; Brad and Eileen Smulson, Operation Blankets of Love (OBOL). 

“Go-to-Style” Diva Lisa M. Berman will host the celebrity red carpet program, which includes a dinner, a silent auction and performance by Argentinean singer Eduardo Diamante, Alen the Violinist, Carrington Durham and Radha Mehta.  Bohemia, an award- winning dance group is also slated to perform.

Other guest expected and confirmed as attending include: Council members, Lucy Martin of Calabasas, Harry Leon of La Crestenta, Alex Kalognomos, director of ARPA International Festival, Hollywood Casting Director, Valerie McCaffrey, celebrity designer and reality star, Kelly Nishimoto and other prominent celebs and business professionals.

Celebrity fashion designer Simin of Simin Couture, known for dressing Royalty and celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, will be showcasing her latest gowns. Simin of Simin Couture has personally selected an exclusive piece to be donated to the live auction to help raise funds for the foundation. Other items for donations include a Catalina trip, scuba diving, a session at Irwindale Speedway, surfing lessons and horseback riding. One of the favorites among celebrities including Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Garner, a custom necklace by Helen Ficalora.
